As early as 1570, chapmen (hawkers) sold chapbooks -- these chapbooks
were "a small book or pamphlet containing poems, ballads, stories, or
religious tracts." The term is still used today to refer to short,
inexpensive booklets. This precious limited edition, A Blue Like Milk,
has been specially printed and hand-sewn with a signature red thread
binding. The text of the book is set in Goudy 11 point font. The paper
is Wausau Royal Fiber Natural and the covers are Wausau Royal Fiber
Periwinkle. Each chapbook, published by Sotto Voce, is numbered and
signed by the poet, Iowa native Sarah Martin Busse.

Sarah Martin Busse grew up in Mt. Vernon, Iowa the daughter of Jacqueline Briggs Martin
(a picture book author) and Richard Martin (a professor in the English
department of Cornell College in Mt. Vernon). She was surrounded by
words and stories and poems. Sarah and her mother once planted a
flower garden with flowers that would have been on the prairie in Laura
Ingalls Wilder's younger days. Now Sarah writes poetry -- beautiful
poetry that recalls a child's bond with her father, the joy in watching
a child's first steps, and .... Soft, gentle, poetry to enjoy while
cuddled in our companion Apple Medley Tapestry Throw. Ribboned bookmark
included with the limited edition chapbook. In 2006, a book, Banjo Granny, that Sarah co-authored with her mother, Jacqueline Briggs Martin, was published.
